Band Bios and such
Here a liite bit more about us!
A Band at random? ... or with a purpose?
Reverb Deluxe was formed pretty deliberately.
It is kind a of crazy story and just shows how small the world really is. Wild Bill had this idea to pause some other projects in other genres and take the advice of his best girl. This was "Honey, You really should do more country, it's probably what you do best." That made a lot sense and a return to the roots of American music seemed needed in the ILM area. So the job of forming a real honky-tonk country based band with enough range to handle fan favorites in Southern Rock etc. with a few other danceable surprises thrown was laid out.
Sooo.. Bill got in touch with Randy F. who simply said "Yeah let's do this!" "Mongo Like..." The Wilmington area needs an electric, high energy real-deal country band. Now, Randy is kind of known 'round here for country and is a founder of country bands like Chillin' Dixie as well as Trainwreck and Longshot . Well that was easy and we just went from a solo act to an ensemble.
OK, so knowing this band will need a solid drummer with vocals... Bill called up "Bad" Brad. Bill and Brad had played in a couple of bands the last few years with Bill on bass. Brad, being a veteran of local acts such as Rose Hill Resurrection, Uncle Hairy, The Other Guys, and more, was finishing up another project and being a true gentleman said " OK , sounds like a plan" So now with lead vocals , backing vocals, bass, and drums quickly nailed down... what to do for another artist than can add the right sound?
Hmmm.. well there is a guy who could do it. We need twangy, spanky, tones, hot licks, and the ability to add the fiddle parts and some steel guitar parts. Shoot! who can do that??
So, going wayyyyy backkkk...Bill and Randy O had formed several bands in the Wilmington area back in the 90's before ILM got so many dang people. Valance, H3O, the Instigators and more. Played all the hot spots in Wilmington and along the beaches.
Well waddaya know? Turns out that both Randys had played together previously, in a county band of all things! So with Bill and Brad already being synched up, this thing started to make sense.
So there ya go, turns out we all played with different bands together! We are joining forces and talents to lay down some smokin' hot songs, in all best places in the local area. We always will bring the party and as a good friend of mine aways says "Stay Thirsty!!"
Bill McMullen
Lead vocals, guitar and driver of the Winnebago
"Wild" Bill has been playing local and regional venues across the Carolinas since 1991. A versatile all-round musician and vocalist he brings his own unique style to a wide range of genres . When he hits the stage he always engages the crowd and and croon with the best of 'em.
Randy Ogelsby
Lead Guitar and Vocals
"Randy O" has been playing professionally in the area since his early 20s and there are just too many local acts he has been a part of to list here. Covering ALL the the hot Tele licks as well many other instruments, Randy brings the kind sound and showmanship that comes from years on the road and playing for every type of crowd. Best around at Country and Southern Rock for sure!
Brad Dean
Drums, Percussion and Vocals
"Bad" Brad has been on local music scene for many years and may different musical endeavors. He is always known for great timing, precise tempo and tasty fills. In addition being the foundation of the bands rhythm, he sings as well and adds an extra "kick" to to all our shows!
Randy Fisher
Bass and Vocals
Randy "Mongo" Fisher, just like the rest of the band is a veteran of many successful local acts and bridges the rhythm and melody of the group. He's a wprhorse on bass and vocals and aguably he may be the "most" country of the whole group. He keeps the whole show swinging. Randy was born to boogie!
